Organising a listening activity in the classroom
Major aim of a listening astivity in the classroom or outside is to focus on the text/item they will listen to. We need to organise in such a way that the listening activity hecomes an enabling one for learners. * Pre-listening activities * While- listening activities. * Post- listening activities . Pre-Listening Activities need to be short brainstorming activities or tasks that would take learners into listening. It may be discussion on the ideas, the events or persons of the listening texts. Children talk in pairs or groups so that they can possibly connect with their experiences and to predict Teacher may raise some probing questions to arouse interest in children to apprehend or predict what they would be listening.
