 NCF 2005 Gives a Fresh Impetus to Language Education that renewed attempt should be made to implement the three language formula . It also emphasizes Proficiency in multiple languages including English should be encouraged in children. The three-language teaching formula is an attempt to address the challenges and opportunities of the linguistic situation in India. The primary aim of the formula is to promote multilingualism and national harmony. 

The goals for second language curriculum are two fold: 

a. Attainment of a basic proficiency, such as is acquired in natural language learning and the development of language into an instrument for abstract thought and

 b. Knowledge acquisition through literacy Improving linguistic skills in one language improves it in others, while reading failure in one's own languages adversely affects second language reading.  

        Language education is not confined to the language classroom. It is important to view language education as everybody's concern at school and not as a responsibility of the language teacher alone. Many students who have to switch over to English, having had their earlier education through their mother tongues face barriers of language. Teachers would be doing them a service by being bilingual to some extent for the first few weeks.

 Teachers should make themselves aware of their students' first language or mother tongue so that in times of difficulty they can explain to the students in a simple and comprehensible language, may be mother tongue. By talking to students outside the classroom on topics other than the text or the school, students will know the words of seçond language is often used and present around them.

 They will also be able to use the language outside the classroom, in the society with confidence without the teacher, thus fulfilling the basic purpose of language. Therefore, a language across the curriculum approach is required. This brings down the barriers between English and other subjects, and other Indian languages. The aim of English teaching is the creation of multilinguals who can enrich all our languages which has been an abiding national vision.

 राष्ट्रीय पाठ्यचर्या की रूपरेखा 2005 के अनुसार प्रारंभिक स्तर पर अंग्रेजी का शिक्षण कैसे किया जा सकता है?


 NCF 2005 भाषा शिक्षा को एक नया प्रोत्साहन देता है कि त्रिभाषा सूत्र को लागू करने के लिए नए सिरे से प्रयास किया जाना चाहिए।  यह बच्चों में अंग्रेजी सहित कई भाषाओं में प्रवीणता पर भी जोर देता है।  त्रि-भाषा शिक्षण सूत्र भारत में भाषाई स्थिति की चुनौतियों और अवसरों का समाधान करने का एक प्रयास है।  सूत्र का प्राथमिक उद्देश्य बहुभाषावाद और राष्ट्रीय सद्भाव को बढ़ावा देना है।


            द्वितीय भाषा पाठ्यक्रम के लक्ष्य दो प्रकार के हैं:


 1. एक बुनियादी दक्षता की प्राप्ति, जैसे कि प्राकृतिक भाषा सीखने और भाषा के विकास को अमूर्त विचार के लिए एक उपकरण के रूप में हासिल किया जाता है और


 2.  साक्षरता के माध्यम से ज्ञान प्राप्त करना एक भाषा में भाषाई कौशल में सुधार करना इसे दूसरों में सुधारता है, जबकि किसी की अपनी भाषा में पढ़ने की विफलता दूसरी भाषा पढ़ने पर प्रतिकूल प्रभाव डालती है।


 भाषा शिक्षा भाषा कक्षा तक ही सीमित नहीं है।  भाषा शिक्षा को स्कूल में हर किसी की चिंता के रूप में देखना महत्वपूर्ण है, न कि केवल भाषा शिक्षक की जिम्मेदारी के रूप में।  कई छात्र जिन्हें अपनी मातृभाषा के माध्यम से अपनी प्रारंभिक शिक्षा प्राप्त करने के बाद अंग्रेजी में स्विच करना पड़ता है, उन्हें भाषा की बाधाओं का सामना करना पड़ता है।  शिक्षक पहले कुछ हफ्तों के लिए कुछ हद तक द्विभाषी होकर उनकी सेवा कर रहे होंगे।


 शिक्षकों को चाहिए कि वे अपने छात्रों की प्रथम भाषा या मातृभाषा से स्वयं को अवगत कराएं ताकि कठिनाई के समय वे छात्रों को सरल और सुबोध भाषा में समझा सकें, चाहे वह मातृभाषा हो।  पाठ या स्कूल के अलावा अन्य विषयों पर कक्षा के बाहर के छात्रों से बात करने से, छात्रों को पता चल जाएगा कि दूसरी भाषा के शब्द अक्सर इस्तेमाल किए जाते हैं और उनके आसपास मौजूद होते हैं।


 वे कक्षा के बाहर, समाज में शिक्षक के बिना आत्मविश्वास के साथ भाषा का उपयोग करने में सक्षम होंगे, इस प्रकार भाषा के मूल उद्देश्य को पूरा करेंगे।  इसलिए, पाठ्यक्रम दृष्टिकोण में एक भाषा की आवश्यकता है।  यह अंग्रेजी और अन्य विषयों और अन्य भारतीय भाषाओं के बीच की बाधाओं को कम करता है।  अंग्रेजी शिक्षण का उद्देश्य बहुभाषाओं का निर्माण करना है जो हमारी सभी भाषाओं को समृद्ध कर सकते हैं जो एक स्थायी राष्ट्रीय दृष्टि रही है।

       With regards to language teaching BCF 2008 follows the recommendations and suggestions of the NCF -2005.
