Formal and Informal 

You may have written or read different types of letters. Can you tell which one is formal and which one is informal. Here is a list of letters. Put them in appropriate column:

 • An application

 • A business letter 

• A letter to the father

* A letter to friend

 • Complaint letters, etc. 

Formal Letters, Informal Letters 

A letter written to our relatives or friends is called informal. 

Letters written to persons other than friends or relatives come under the category of the formal letter.

 Dear Apurva,

          I hope you're keeping well. Recently, during the summer vacation I went family.

          There I saw the Gol ghar , Planetarium, Sanjay Gandhi Botanical and Zoological Garden and Science Center.All of us enjoyed seeing the animals in their natural habitat in the sanjay Gandhi Botanical and Zoological Garden. We also felt excited on seeing stars and planets in the planetarium.We had a very good view of patna from the top of Gol Ghar . It was a great experience going through different activities at the Science Center.

  I enjoyed cold -drinks and eatables with Mom and Dad.I wish you too were with us . Please convey my regards to uncle and ....It and love to Nisha.

       With regards to language teaching BCF 2008 follows the recommendations and suggestions of the NCF -2005. It clearly states:  The NCF-2005 calls for a constructivist approach to teaching and learning. where learners make sense of the world around them.
